European Project Assistant - Paris, France

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international NGO of 700.000 volunteers who work to assist people in need and combat social injustice. Member of the Society locally visit people in their homes to provide support, friendship and material assistance.

We are looking for a new employee to join the team in Paris for a time of 18 months, starting April or May 1st , 2009.Among his/her responsibilities will be:

• Reporting to the Project Supervisor, the Project Assistant will be responsible for the overall implementation of a European project aimed at the exchange of volunteers in the 19 participating countries.

• Assist in editing and compiling of complex project documentations for current and future projects for example to present our organisation to international organisations.

• Manage and update our extensive files of local member organisations throughout the world.

The successful candidate is expected to have:

• A university degree (Bachelor, Bac+3, Bac+4 or the like)

• Excellent knowledge of English and French while Spanish is a strong asset

• Experience in project management using a high degree of initiative and responsibility

• Good (self) organization skills

• Willingness to travel occasionally

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: 2.000 EUR (13 months) plus restaurant tickets
