Summary:

Oversee all fiscal activities across the organization. Provide leadership and coordination of financial planning, reporting, internal control, and budget management functions.

Main Responsabilities:

* Ensure adherence to International Standards for Professional Practice of Internal Auditing;
* Ensure adherence to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for the comprehensive financial reports;
* Ensure adherence to the national accounting standards for NP legal entities i.e. GAAP for NP (USA) and Belgian financial standards for NP (Belgium);
* Review and ensure NP's internal control system;
* Oversee completion and implementation of NP's fiscal policies and procedures;
* Conduct regular financial control of all NP administrative offices, including financial reports to donor agencies;
* Verify compliance with applicable laws, policies, rules and procedures;
* Assess NP's fiscal resource-use efficiency;
* Issue recommendations on systems, policies and procedures. Effectively manage international compliance;
* Maintain and close consolidated books on a monthly basis and deliver consolidated financial statements for the International Governing Council and the International Executive Director;
* Oversee books on a monthly basis for the NP legal entities: NP (USA) and NP (Belgium);
* Prepare for successful execution of external audits;
* In collaboration with country directors and the fundraising department, oversee the preparation of monthly cash flow projections;
* Conduct regular budget reviews;
* Member NP Finance Committee;
* Member NP Director's Team;
* Any other financial oversight tasks assigned by NP's chief executive officer.

Training and Experience Required:

* University graduate with a degree in accounting or finance;
* Minimum five years experience in internal or external auditing or controlling for an international nonprofit;
* Practical experience in identifying risks and implementing an internal control system.

Skills and Qualifications:

* Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles and automated financial and accounting systems;
* Professional written and verbal cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to motivate staff to maintain schedules and timelines to meet project deadlines;
* Ability to simultaneously manage several projects across various time zones and using various currencies;
* Ability to grasp and analyse complex situations;
* Ability to apply rules and methods consistently across a diverse organization;
* In-depth understanding of restricted fund accounting and donor reporting;
* Discretion, persistence and attention to detail;
* Willingness to work on a flexible schedule;
* Fluent in English; knowledge of French an asset;
* Existing work permit or a reasonable likelihood to obtain such a permit to work in the EU is required as well as a current passport;
* Available to travel as needed, possibly to areas of violent conflict.

Starting Date:

* March 1, 2009.

Location:

* Brussels, Belgium.

Remuneration:

* 35,000 Euro including benefits package according to Belgian employment law.

The European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG) is a pan European organization representing groups of treatment activists from 34 WHO European countries. EATG’s mission is to achieve the fastest possible access to state of the art medical products and devices, and diagnostic tests that prevent or treat HIV infection or improve the quality of life for people living with HIV, or at risk of HIV infection.

EATG’s secretariat, and its team of 6 staff members located in Brussels, now has a full time post for Projects and Training Adviser.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Projects and Training Adviser will oversee the EATG project management and implementation and will develop and strengthen EATG activities in the key area of Capacity Building work.

Key tasks and responsibilities will include:

* Projects:

The Projects and Training Adviser will develop and strengthen the EATG’s project management and implementation, and will keep an overview of all EATG projects. This will apply to internal EATG projects (projects designed and led by EATG members) and external projects funded by other donors (where EATG is lead or partner organisation).

* Trainings:

The Projects and Training Adviser will support the development and strengthening of EATG’s Capacity Building work. The focus would be on the following key areas – HIV Treatment literacy and Treatment advocacy. These activities will be for the benefit of 2 target groups: external activities designed for PLWH and their advocates, and internal activities designed for EATG members and staff.

Eligibility criteria:

* Essential:

o University degree;
o Extensive experience in coordination and management of projects, preferably in a non-profit sector;
o Experience in coordinating, designing and delivering training programs;
o Experience with monitoring and evaluation of programs;
o Experience with performing needs assessments;
o Understanding of HIV and AIDS issues, particularly HIV treatment issues;
o Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken;
o Excellent facilitation and presentation skills;
o Understanding and experience of fundraising for non-profit organisations;
o Ability to effectively communicate and liaise with many different groups, communities and nationalities, and operate in a range of different cultural, social, economic and political environments;
o Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
o Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize;
o Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team;
o Excellent self-organization abilities;
o Excellent computer skills;
o Prepared to travel and occasional weekend work.

* Desirable:

o Working knowledge of other European languages, both written and spoken;
o Experience with DG Sanco funded projects;
o Experience in management of training pool.

Appointment and conditions of employment:

* The successful candidate will receive an indefinite contract, subject to a 6-month probationary period;
* The salary scale: 2.500 – 3.200 Eur gross/month (depending on experience);
* Location: EATG’s secretariat in Brussels, with frequent travel;
* Start: As soon as possible, preferably before 9 February 2009;

The European Federation for Street Children (EFSC) is a Brussels-based association committed on a non-profit basis to the improvement of the rights and situations of marginalised children, in particular street children.

Responsibilities / Tasks:

* Financial management of projects and running costs using an accountancy software;
* In charge of daily accountancy (encoding of invoices, financial statements);
* Preparation of budgets, financial reports and cash flow overviews;
* To support the Director in the budgetary planning and financial management, in particular of two multi-year EU projects;
* Administrative tasks: drafting of letters, answering the phone, filing of documents to document management system, proof-reading and formatting of documents;
* Office tasks: contacts with tenants, insurances, supplies management, purchases, etc;
* Human resources: Management of the employees` files, assisting in contract preparation and monitoring of the remuneration;
* Organisation of international conferences, seminars and meetings: accommodation, travel arrangements, invitations, registrations.

Qualifications / Profile:

* Degree in accountancy;
* Several years of experience as an accountant;
* Experience with financial management of projects, particularly with EU assistance programmes would be an asset;
* Experience in office management;
* Excellent organisational, multi-tasking and communication skills, team-player, flexible and self-organised;
* Commitment to social and human rights issues;
* Interest and/or knowledge of the field of NGOs and/or childrens rights is an advantage;
* In-depth knowledge of an accountancy software, preferably Winbooks, MS office and Word; knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint an asset;
* Fluency in English and good knowledge of French, German would be an asset.

This position is full-time on a 1-year contract but dependant on programme funding with possibility of extension. 13th salary and holiday pay included.

As the administrative seat of EFSC will be relocated during 2009 from Brussels to Luxembourg, this will require a willingness on the part of the prospective candidate to move at the eventual time. Starting date as soon as possible.

Fairtrade Labelling Organizations (FLO) International is the leading Fairtrade standard setting and certification body. It regularly inspects and certifies about 508 producer organizations in more than 60 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It permits nearly 1,5 million producers, workers and their dependents in more than 60 developing countries to benefit from labelled Fairtrade.

FLO International is divided into the following two organizations:

1. FLO International e.V. is a publicly recognized non-profit multi-stakeholder association involving FLO's 20 member organizations (or Labelling Initiatives), producer organizations, traders and external experts. It develops and reviews standards and assists producers in capitalizing on market opportunities.
2. FLO-CERT GmbH is a limited company that coordinates all tasks and processes all information related to the inspection and certification of producers and trade. Operating independently from any other interests, it follows the international ISO standard for certification bodies (ISO 65).

The Producer Business Unit of FLO International e.V. is looking to contract a:
Liaison Officer for Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria

Function:

To act as the regionally based liaison person between the Producer Business Unit (PBU) and FLO certified producers, potential FLO producer partners, and Fairtrade stakeholders and partners, in Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria.

Core Responsibilities:

* Providing information, advice and training to producers to improve compliance with Fairtrade standards;
* Providing information, advice and training to producers to improve their market opportunities. Providing information to FLO International e.V. about producers in their sphere of activity.

Tasks:

* Seeking new Suppliers/Products/Origins;
* Providing an introduction to producers to Fairtrade;
* Assessing Producer Groups as Businesses;
* Support Work following Inspections;
* Sourcing and liaising with local external support agencies;
* Helping coordinate the Pricing Process;
* Provide information about local networks;
* Provide regular and consistent reports on targeted producer groups;
* Represent the PBU in local workshops/conferences as required and agreed.

Not Tasks:

* Standard setting, Inspection, Certification, Product Management, Supply Chain Management.

* To the appropriate Regional Coordinator at FLO e.V. office in Germany.

Communication Lines

Requirements

* University degree in agricultural, social, or economic science or development studies;
* At least five years of professional working experience;
* Experience in working with small farmers organizations at the grassroots level;
* Motivation to continue working at the grassroots level;
* Strong self-management skills: able to work alone and independently; good planning and organizational capacities;
* Good contacts with local NGOs and Government resources;
* Ability to communicate effectively with counterparts from different strata of society;
* Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect;
* for diversity and gender balance;
* Dynamic trainer;
* Team player: working with local and remote teams;
* Basic accounting skills (other business skills desirable);
* Familiarity with local culture;
* Fluency in Arabic, English and French;
* Fluency in any languages relevant to the region of responsibility: Berber dialects, Tunisian, Moroccan, Algerian;
* Preparedness to frequent travels in the region in basic conditions;
* Proficient in the use of computers, including MS Office, internet;
* Experience with Corporate Social Responsibility and certification systems would be a plus.

Terms of the contract:

Consultant contract for twelve month period renewable, starting as soon as possible.
Location of the post: Morocco or Tunisia.

There is currently no FLO e.V. representative office in the region, the Liaison Officer might have to set up his/her own office.
