diversethics Foundation and Child’s Dream Association are two Swiss-registered charitable organisations (NGOs) helping communities in need in the entire Mekong Sub-Region (Thailand, Burma, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam). Child’s Dream Foundation is also registered as a Thai charitable foundation. Our office is located in the city center of Chiang Mai. We are a team of 25 staff members. Since our organization is growing rapidly, we are looking for an IT Volunteer.
Please note that this is a volunteer position and neither compensation nor expenses for trip/living cost can be paid. Please only approach us if you are interested and able to work for free.
Who can support us with
* Redesign and migration of existing organically grown Microsoft Access databases to web applications based on MySQL, XHTML, CSS and PHP (work in progress)
* the new applications will run in a Linux environment running Apache Server, PHP5, and MySQL. I used MySQL v 5., Ubuntu v 8.04 (or greater), PHP5
Required Qualifications / Candidate Profile
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Access and Visual Basic
* Good knowledge of XHTML, CSS, MySQL and PHP
* Experience in database design
* Object oriented programming experience
* Refactoring experience is a plus
* Ability to understand and adapt to user requirements
* proactive, well organised and self-motivated
* strong analysis and conceptual skills, with close attention to detail
* good oral and written English skills are a must; knowledge in additional languages welcome
* team player, who is also able to work independently
* open-minded, flexible, spontaneous person, who is interested in NGO work and foreign cultures
* this position requires physical presence in Chiang Mai (no remote assignment possible)

This is a rewarding role for an ambitious client-oriented IP lawyer, who will be focusing primarily on Trademarks and Copy rights, acting on behalf of the local and international clients.
The scope of the role includes advising on contentious and non-contentious intellectual property issues for clients, covering a wide range of industry sectors.
Your responsibilities will involve representing clients in every aspect of intellectual property and international trade law, passing off, unfair competition, copyright, and purchase, sale or licensing of IP rights, in addition to trademark, copyright and patent registration and advice and enforcement of IP rights.
The firm is looking for a Bar qualified lawyer with 1-5 years PQE, ideally Mid Level, with strong IP experience, in particular in Trademarks and Copy rights. Patents experience is also welcome, but not the first priority for our client.
They are seeking a real team player, an individual with ideas who is willing to share them and to make the practice stronger.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required, as well as experience in working for an international law firm.

An international company, near Lausanne, is looking for a Trademark Paralegal Assistant.
Your challenges:
You assist the in-house Trademark Counsels with respect to the grand and the defence of the trademark and industrial design rights.
Filing of trademark/industrial design protections on a worldwide basis (from filing to grant) using all available systems such as the International Trademark System (Madrid System), Community Trademark as well as national trademark system; The above includes: Sending of instructions to external agents (PoA, declarations, etc), limitation of list of goods/services and responses to office actions, oppositions, etc.; Competitive Trademark watching: Review trademark watch notices and - in agreement with the in-house Trademark Counsel) - instruct external agents in case of opposition and/or negotiation with third parties; Gathering of information relating to the use of company’s trademarks worldwide, creating a "knowledge database" in view of international conflicts and applications for well-known recognition of company’s trademarks; Ensure consistent up date of information into the trademark and industrial design database.
Your profile:
Experience in Intellectual Property field (ideally min. 2 years) in an international environment or within an law Firm; Good computer skills (Word, outlook and knowledge of softwares and databases usually used within trademark practice); English or French mother tongue, with command of the other; Autonomous, pro-active, detail oriented.
